Who is behind the initiative?
The initiative was founded in 2018 by renowned companies and research institutions from the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. Together, we want to showcase the region's wealth of innovation and inspire students and skilled workers for our region.
An extraordinarily innovative region
In the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region, you will find numerous places where innovations are created, because the innovative strength in the region is particularly high. One reason for this: Science and business work closely together in the Metropolitan Region. A well-functioning innovation ecosystem consisting of 21 universities, around 150 global market leaders and hidden champions as well as 50 research institutions form the basis for this.
According to the European Regional Innovation Scoreboard, the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region is one of the innovation leaders and has even been recognised by the European Commission as a European Regional Innovation Valley. Further proof of the region's enormous innovative strength: on average, twice as many patents are registered as in the rest of Germany.
A region worth living in
The Nuremberg Metropolitan Region remains in people's memories - it is perceived as likeable, successful and consistent and has great potential in terms of innovation and medical technology. In particular, the region scores highly with its unspoilt nature, good food and a unique mix of urban and rural life.
