Different symptoms in female and male patients
In women, coronary heart disease often manifests itself through non-specific, atypical symptoms. The symptoms differ greatly between women and men. As a result, women are more likely to receive a delayed diagnosis or no diagnosis at all.
Coronary CT diagnostics of central importance
In such cases, coronary CT diagnostics can be of central importance for women. ‘The exciting thing is that CT not only shows the narrowing, but also what is causing it,’ explains Prof. Dr. Christian Löwe, cardiovascular radiologist at the University Hospital Vienna. Siemens Healthineers manufactures various computer tomography devices, including coronary CT devices. The medical technology manufacturer is also based in the Nuremberg metropolitan region, including in Forchheim and Erlangen.
